Both of my grandfathers are veterans. When I was a little girl, I loved to hear my papa tell us about his time in the army. He and some fellow soldiers had a band, and every night at dinner in the mess hall they would play music for the soldiers. I love to think about those times. One day as a little girl, I was rummaging through my grandma’s living room and I found a picture of my dad’s dad dressed in uniform standing outside their first home. The picture was faded and blurry, but my God, what a handsome soldier he made.
